The 7-layer framework

Seven layers before the click.

A fixed order of questions that every trade has to answer, from the macro backdrop down to the review. Scroll to pass through each layer.

The questions

What each layer answers.

One question per layer, and the tool in the platform that helps you answer it.

Layer 01

Macro bias

Is the dollar bid or offered? Are yields rising? Is the market in risk-on or risk-off mode? This sets which direction you lean.

Macro Reaction Model
Layer 02

Session context

Which session is open, and what has the previous session already done? Mark the Asian high and low before London opens.

Layer 03

Liquidity pool

Where are the stops resting? Equal highs and lows and obvious swing points are where price tends to look first.

Layer 04

Structure shift

Did price sweep the pool and then shift structure? Without a shift, a sweep is only a move.

Entry model

Where exactly do you enter? Pick one model and define it before price gets there.

Layer 06

Risk execution

Where is the idea wrong? Size the position so that being wrong costs a fixed, small share of the account.

Trade review

Did you follow the plan? Grade the process, not the outcome, and write it down the same day.

Worked example

A sweep, read layer by layer.

03

Pool mapped

Three touches at the same high leave a shelf of buy stops above it.

04

Sweep, then shift

Price takes the stops, fails to hold above, and breaks the last higher low.

06

Risk defined

Invalidation sits above the sweep high, so the size follows from that distance.
